Chris Brown In Jail For Felony Assault After Trying To Defend Himself

“Singer Chris Brown and a bodyguard were arrested Sunday morning and charged with felony assault, the Washington Metropolitan Police Department said. The arrest could have serious legal consequence for Brown, 24, since he is serving probation for the felony domestic violence conviction relating to his 2009 attack on former girlfriend Rihanna. Brown and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy allegedly attacked a man with their fists outside the W Hotel in downtown Washington at 4:25 a.m. Sunday, police said. The police incident report obtained by CNN identified the alleged victim as Isaac Adams Parker, 20, of Beltsville, Maryland. Parker did not immediately respond to a CNN call for comment. Parker told police that he tried to jump into a photo that Brown was posing for with a female fan on the sidewalk when the singer said, “I’m not down with that gay s–t” and “I feel like boxing,” the police report said. Parker said that Brown then punched him in the face with his closed fist, the report said.” – CNN

Kobe may test free agency

20131025-193730.jpg

At the bottom of T.J. Simers’ article on Kobe Bryant is an interesting blurb about how the Lakers may choose to handle the five-time NBA champion’s expiring contract.

Per Orange County Register:

He becomes a free agent at the end of the season, and Jim Buss says because of the pay structure of the NBA, the Lakers will allow Kobe to become a free agent.

He says he has talked to Kobe and believes they have an understanding, Bryant waiting as a free agent while the team spends to upgrade and then using what is left over to pay Kobe.

“We’ve probably talked,” says Kobe while being somewhat vague, “but I’m putting off any thought of that.”

Bud Adams dies at 90!

Bud Adams dies at 90!

Owner of the Tennessee Titans, Bud Adams, dies at 90 inside of his home in Houston, Texas. The team had announced Monday that Bud Adams had passed away, saying he “died away peacefully from natural causes.” Bud Adams moved the Houston Oilers to Tennessee after the 1996 season. His 409 wins were the most of any current NFL owner. Adam’s Oilers were pretty bad in the years following the 1970 merger between the AFL and the NFL, but had a serious come-back in the late 1970s when Adams convinced Tampa Bay Buccaneers owner, Hugh Culverhouse, to trade him the rights to Heisman Trophy-winning running back Earl Campbell in 1978.The Campbell-led teams reached two straight AFC title games, only to lose to eventual Super Bowl winner Pittsburgh both times. The Oilers died out of the playoffs early in 1980 and Adams reacted by firing popular coach Bum Phillips, a move that permanently alienated him from many fans of the team’s “Luv Ya Blue” era. Phillips died Friday, also at the age of 90. The Oilers had their longest run of success in the late 1980s and early 1990s but became best known for blowing a record 32-point lead in a playoff game at Buffalo on Jan. 3, 1993 — Adams’ 70th birthday.
